A new country, a new family, a new me. The trip that truly sparked the love of travel within me.
Outrunning My Feet, Outgrowing My Shoes is a creative outlet for me to express how travel has always done more than just take me somewhere new. Anyone who knows me knows that I am always moving, always growing, and never coming back the same. Every trip feels like something I am growing through, not just going through. I'm always left with little pieces of places that don't quite fit back into who I was before.
A place where I can hold onto what we loved, what surprised us, and who we were while we were there — long after my now too-small shoes are back by the door.
Some trips are all about relaxing on beautiful beaches and getting a good tan. Others are about seeing how far I can push my tennis shoes and where I can get the best pizza. I felt like the best way to show how we like to get around was organizing it like this, since I've been blessed enough to have too many memories to just throw a list of them at you.
Salty hair, sleeping in until noon, and sunburns.
Street lights, navigating the metros like natives, and the feeling that there's always something else around the corner.
Getting back to nature (and getting carsick on the way) and moments that made me appreciate Arkansas a little more
The places that made me want to put a private jet on my wedding registry
A new country, a new family, a new me. The trip that truly sparked the love of travel within me.
The most tired, most fulfilled I've ever felt. I showed up with a half empty backpack and left with a new view of the world.
Magical moments full of nature that made me fall in love with these islands enough to make the 10 hour plane ride worth it.
A spur of the moment trip that totally changed our view of travel.
Walking just far enough away from the nude beach in Spain to find those quiet tide pools and feeling like a mermaid.
That bus ride through Croatia where I couldn’t stop staring out the window, trying to take in every second because I couldn’t believe where we were.
That random chicken alfredo in Rome that we didn’t plan for, but somehow ended up being our favorite travel meal ever.
Walking through London at night with nowhere we needed to be, just ending up wherever the streets took us.
That waiter in Puerto Rico who said “ta daaaaa” every single time he set a dish down.
The moment the Tokyo metro started to make sense — and then we took the wrong exit.
Standing there watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle and thinking, “I can’t believe this is real life right now.”
Riding bikes through the Netherlands with no real plan, daydreaming about the mango sticky rice we had just eaten.
